Age 94, May 14, 2011. Beloved wife of
the late Francis Blanford; dear mother
of Donald (Rita), Mary (late Luigi)
Monga, William (Cheryl) and Michael
(Karen); known as “Tommy” to many
friends, Mrs. Blanford was born in Rose
Hill, Lee County, Virginia. She graduated
from Louisville (KY) General Hospital
School of Nursing and served as a
surgical nurse before devoting herself
to raising her four children. She was the
proud grandmother to Christopher, Lisa,
Francesca (Jon), Tom, Kate, Andrew,
Greg and Peter and great-grandmother
to Sophia and Simon. Friends may
call Tuesday 4-8 PM at the DIETRICH
FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2480 Kensington
Avenue, Amherst, NY 14226, where
prayers will be said on Wednesday at
8:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be offered Wednesday at 9 AM at
Christ the King Church, Snyder, where
she had been a parishioner since 1948.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
