Worth of Amherst, a registered nurse who also provided nursing care for her family and friends, died last Tuesday in Beechwood Hospice Care, Getzville, after an 11-month battle with esophageal cancer. She was 62. Born in Buffalo, the former Cynthia Pease attended Holy Redeemer School and was a 1971 graduate of Kensington High School. She earned her nursing degree from the former E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1974. She began her career as a nurse at Meyer, now Erie County Medical Center, then left to raise her family. When her husband, Daniel J., became disabled after suffering a heart attack in 2004, Mrs. Worth returned to work as a night nurse at Beechwood Continuing Care’s Wesley Rehabilitation Center in Getzville while caring for her husband during the day. She retired last August. Active in the Parent-Teacher Association, she was a past president of the Western District of the PTA. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband of 33 years, survivors include a daughter, Kelley A.; a son, Bryan M.; her mother, Rita Pease; two sisters, Donna Fuchs and Ellen Urbanski; and a brother, James Pease.
