I am arriving to this late as I didn’t hear about Dr Curran’s passing until recently. Dr Curran was my first supervising physician when I graduated PA school. I learned alot from him and really appreciated the opportunity he gave me and the trust he put in me helping to care for his patient population. He took the time one night to call and let me know about a patient of his that I saw who had ‘heartburn’. I had a hunch it was more than heartburn and sent him to the emergency room where he was diagnosed with a heart attack. Dr Curran took the time to call me and let me know what happened and said ‘I appreciated how conscientious you were about evaluating him’. This meant alot to me as a young PA just starting out. He was a quiet man, but very mindful and kind. He handled stressful situations with sheer calm. His patients loved him.
Grateful and honored I had the opportunity to work with him for the first 3yrs of my PA career.
