 www.TheDietrichFuneralHome.com Dec. 14, 1924 – Dec. 16, 2015 Elizabeth J. Herman, a retired City of Buffalo employee, died Wednesday in Elderwood at Cheektowaga after a short illness. She was 91. Born in Buffalo, Mrs. Herman graduated from Kensington High School in 1941 and attended Buffalo State College. A lifelong Buffalo-area resident, she worked for the Buffalo Board of Education in the transportation services department before working for the city government. Among her jobs at City Hall were secretary to Fire Commissioner Karl K. Kubiak during the administration of Mayor Stanley M. Makowski, as well as in the department of vital statistics. She retired in 1980. Mrs. Herman was a parishioner at Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church in Cheektowaga. The former Elizabeth Roob was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Herman. She is survived by two sons Joseph Bradley Herman and James Brent Herman; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Czestochowa, 2158 Clinton St.
