Beloved husband of Patti Kight (née Henry), loving father of Paul (Kristin) Kight and the late David Morgan Kight. Loving son of the late Joshua Ledane Kight and late Loretta Kight (née Fishback). Loving brother of Joyce (the late Allen) Perry and Becky (Don) Eddy. Howard was born and raised in Charleston West Virginia and met Patti at a church square dance. They were married for 68 years. Howard received a bachelor’s degree at West Virginia Wesleyan College and went on to get his master’s and doctoral degrees in child psychology at Indiana University. He enjoyed a long career as a professor at the University at Buffalo. Howard will be remembered for his gentle nature and quick-witted sense of humor. He always had a twinkle in his eye. Friends and family may visit on Saturday May 17, 2025 from 12noon-2pm at The Dietrich Funeral Home Inc, 2480 Kensington Ave. Amherst, NY 14226. I am saddened to hear of Howard’s recent passing. Although I no longer live in Western New York, the entire Kight Family has given me many, many fond memories. My deepest sympathies to Patti, Paul and Kristin. May God bless you and bring you comfort.
