Baker, James Edward Sr. of Amherst, NY entered into rest May 26, 2023; Beloved husband of Ernestine (Terrell); cherished father of Katrina, James Jr. and Christopher Baker; brother of Dorothy Scott of Chesterfield, VA, Queen E. Williams and Maceo Baker of Emporia, VA, Barbara J. Sills of Petersburg, VA, Annie F. Baker of Buffalo, NY and the late Jimmie L. Baker, Inell Parker and Evelyn Lewis; James started his education in Skippers, VA at Powell Elementary School and continued on at Russell High School in Emporia, VA. He left Virginia at the age of 17 and began a career at Bethlehem Steel in Buffalo, NY. James, having a strong work ethic from working on the family farm in Virginia, he decided to open his own landscaping company which he ran until retirement. He will always be remembered as an avid Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan and enthusiast of both classic and muscle cars.
