James Denny

DENNY – James E. Age 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Gilbert, Arizona, on June 2, 2009. Mr. Denny was an accountant, financial advisor, and non-profit administrator in the Buffalo area for nearly 50 years, having followed his father, Edward C. Denny, in the family accounting business after graduating from the University at Buffalo. Mr. Denny was a long-time member and past president of the Amherst South Rotary Club and at various points in his career was active in the Amherst Community Church, the Methodist and Presbyterian churches of Clarence, the Amherst Symphony, St. Francis Hospital Foundation, and the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. In 2007, Mr. Denny retired to Arizona from Clarence where he lived for 38 years. He is survived by his sister Cynthia Meyer of Clarence, son Edward of Mesa, Arizona, his daughter Sarah Denny Slezak, three grandchildren, Avery, Maya, and Mason Slezak, all of West Grove, Pennsylvania, and his yellow Labrador, Molly, of Gilbert. A memorial service will be held on June 19 at 10 a.m. at the Amherst Community Church. Donations to the Amherst Community Church may be made in lieu of flowers.
