So sorry to hear about the death of my long time friend. We meet way back in 1969 when we both were members in the communications department of the 107th Air National Guard, located in Niagara Falls, New York. We had some great times sneaking into the back room while “on duty” playing pinochle and never getting caught. We also rented cottages for a few summers at Crystal Beach Ontario, Canada and never got arrested with those wild parties. Lonnie also stood up in my wedding. My condolences to the Lindner family.
Said goodbye to my Uncle Lonnie ( my godfather) today. Growing up, he took me to many Buffalo Braves, Sabres and Bills games. Going to the old War Memorial Stadium with him, seeing Joe Namath, O.J.Simpson and many others. Going to the Aud for so many functions too. Also all the family picnics on Bigelow , then on Marylou , Woodley and Akron playing jarts for $1 a game, lol. He was always there to talk too, ask for advice, and just someone I could always talk too. Now , he is in heaven with all our relatives, sitting around laughing, having drinks, playing cards, and looking down keeping an eye on us. The past few months have been extremely hard on me, after losing Mom in November, this was just another kick in the gut for me.
