Terpin, Marcia Ann (nee Kicinski)
Sep 30, 2024
Entered into eternal life at the age of 72 after a complicated battle with cancer. After graduating City Honors High School in Buffalo, Marcia started working as a candy striper at 17 yrs. old and then as a LPN at Children’s Hospital of Buffalo. While working and raising a family, Marcia ultimately furthered her career in nursing by becoming a registered nurse in June of 1988. She retired in 2018 as an employee of Children’s Hospital after 46 dedicated years of service, caring for the many sick and fragile newborn babies in the neonatal intensive care unit of the hospital. Marcia met the love of her life, Thomas Gary Terpin, at 16 yrs. of age. They became teenage sweethearts and wedded in 1972. Marcia and Tom were happily married and committed to each other for 52 years. Marcia was preceded in death by her twin sister and parents, Chester and Helen Kicinski. She is survived by her husband Tom; sons Peter (Silvia, nee Pileri) and David Terpin; her two grandchildren that meant the world to her, Sofia and Joey; and her beloved dog, Oreo. Marcia will also be missed by the many friends and relatives she leaves behind who also loved her. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Dietrich Funeral Home, 2480 Kensington Avenue, Amherst, NY 14226 from 3-4pm where a Funeral Service will immediately follow. We will surely miss your daily walks with Oreo as you stopped in our driveway or on our porch and just chatted a bit. You were a good source for medical advice and were always willing to provide it. Our neighborhood will truly miss your calm and patient way. Don’t worry about Oreo. He is in good hands. Rest in peace, Marcia.
Marcia was family from the first time Tommy brought her to Grandpa’s on Christmas Eve. We know this is said too often, but in this case it’s the absolute truth, She lit up a room when she walked in. We were so fortunate to have known her and have so many wonderful memories of spending time with her. As we got older and didn’t see her as often, when we did, we could just pick up like no time had passed. What a Woman, the lives she touched during her career must be countless. A Wife, A Mom, A Nurse, A Genuinely Awesome Person. It’s hard to think of a world without her in it. We are so saddened by her passing, but feel
so lucky for having known her. We are confident that our Cousins will hold each other tight and celebrate the Wonderful woman
she was, and take solace in the multitude of memories of a life well lived.
Tommy, Thanks for bringing Marcia into our lives, we will be forever grateful!
