Phillips, of Lancaster, secretary-treasurer of William Pfohl Trucking Co., died Friday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. She was 74. Born in the Town of Tonawanda, the former Marlene Pfohl was a 1956 graduate of Bishop McMahon High School. She served for 40 years as an officer of William Pfohl Trucking, which her parents founded in 1957. Her husband of 55 years, John Phillips, who died Aug. 15, joined the company in 1976. He was president and chief executive officer at the time of his death. Mrs. Phillips was active in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church as a trustee, educator and eucharistic minister. She also enjoyed ceramics, china painting and gardening. Survivors include two sons, John W. and William; a daughter, Donna Wieand; and a brother, William Pfohl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 5337 Genesee St., Bowmansville.
