Service BUELL – Mary Mulloy
(nee Wechter)
Peacefully entered into rest on July 27,
2022, at age 91. “Oh for heaven’s sake,
I’m in heaven” A woman ahead of her
times, Mary graduated from D’Youville
College in 1953. She married her
sweetheart Charles J. Mulloy in
October of 1954. She and “Chuck”
lovingly raised their children Charles
(Barbara) Mulloy, Anne (Michael)
McKenna, Mary Lyn (James) Herzog,
Margaret “Maggie” (Dan) Corcoran and
Peter (Heather) Mulloy. After Chuck’s
passing, Mary met and fell in love with
Eugene R Buell. She married “Gene”
in April of 1989 and became a loving
stepmother to Maureen Buell, Barbara
(John) Frazier and Sarah (Dan) Buell.
She enjoyed the company of her
beautiful extended family including her
late brother Joseph (Betty) Wechter,
her sisters Ruth (Warren) Buell, Liz
(Leonard) Oakley, many nieces,
nephews, grandchildren and great
grandchildren and dear lifelong friend
Dolly Christina. Mary’s beautiful silver
blue eyes sparkled even brighter
when her grandchildren affectionately
called her “Mae Mae” Mary and Gene
summered in Vermont where they
enjoyed sailing, kayaking and hiking.
They wintered in the Elmwood Village
in Buffalo. Mary was an avid reader and
gardener and enjoyed volunteering at
her church’s food pantry. She enjoyed
music, often singing her favorite line
from “I See the Moon” – God Bless that
somebody I want to see. Mary most
recently lived at Father Baker Manor
where she received extraordinary care.
She brought joy and laughter to the
residents and entire staff, especially
Erin, her cherished primary aide, an
angel on earth. A Celebration of Life will
be held for both Mary and Gene in early
October. Please contact the family
for details. Donations to honor Mary’s
legacy may be made to Holy Trinity
Lutheran Church at Holytrinitybuffalo.org
