Dec. 31, 1927 – Nov. 17, 2013 Patricia Ann Kelly, who traveled the world for about 30 years as a flight attendant, died Sunday at Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga. She was 85. Born in Buffalo, Miss Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Buffalo State Teachers College in the late 1940s and worked for a few years as a home economics teacher in the Southtowns. She went to work as a stewardess – as they were then known – for Eastern Airlines in the early 1950s. She brought back stories about Paris and Rome but loved her trips to Africa the most. Through the years, she was based in Texas, Florida and, eventually, Washington, D.C., where she dealt with many high-profile travelers, including members of Congress and celebrities. Upon her retirement in 1985, she moved to Snyder, where she volunteered at Christ the King Catholic Church and read to children in the Eggertsville-Snyder Library. “She went all around the world. She saw lots of famous people and important, cool things, and she came back to Buffalo. Like everybody else,” said Robert Voltz, a cousin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Church, 30 Lamarck Drive at Main Street, Snyder.
