Paul F. Boeckel, of Buffalo, retired president and owner of Frontier Refrigeration Corp., died Thursday in the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. He was 93.
Born in Buffalo, he grew up in Snyder and graduated in 1940 from Amherst High School. He served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific during World War II. A specialist in aircraft communications, he attained the rank of sergeant.
Returning from service, he attended the University of Buffalo and graduated in 1948 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. At the age of 29, he contracted polio, was hospitalized for six months and lost the use of his left arm.
Mr. Boeckel went on to own his own business, Frontier Refrigeration Corp., then worked as a manufacturer’s representative for True Temper Corp. He retired in 1987.
In retirement, he obtained his real estate license and was a realtor for Hunt Real Estate for many years.
