www.TheDietrichFuneralHome.com May 29, 1946 – July 20, 2015 Sandra Lea DeLeo of Snyder, a teacher who also owned and operated a regional school-based business, died Monday in Sisters Hospital. She was 69. Born in Buffalo, the former Sandra Lea Arbogast graduated from Amherst Central High School in 1964. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Ill., in 1968. Mrs. DeLeo taught second grade for three years at Martin Luther King Multicultural Institute and at a parochial school in Staten Island before opening Western New York School Supply, located in Snyder, in 1989. The business provided graduation gowns and apparel for schools and universities, robes for churches, imprinted and embroidered sportswear, as well as regalia for the medical graduation at the University at Buffalo. At the time of her death, she was active in the business, which served Western New York and beyond. A lifelong member of Amherst Lutheran Church, Mrs. DeLeo led the education program as director of Sunday school for many years, served on the church search committee and Altar Guild. She also was an active member of the Amherst Central School Parent Teacher Association for many years. Mrs. DeLeo was considered a talented cook and loved to entertain, putting together elaborate tables and multiple course meals. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Neal C.; two daughters, Kristin Scharf and Wendy Wyles; a sister, Sharon Arbogast; and four grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Amherst Lutheran Church, 5125 Main St., Williamsville.
