July 20, 1936 – Oct. 26, 2016 Sara “Susie” Leiser, of Kenmore, a registered nurse, died Oct. 26 in Hospice Buffalo, Cheektowaga, after a lengthy illness. She was 80. Born in Kenmore, the former Sara Palmer was a graduate of Kenmore High School and the Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in the obstetrics and gynecology unit at Buffalo General and was a school nurse at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in the Town of Tonawanda. She retired in the early 1990s. Mrs. Leiser was a member of the Amherst Community Church and was active in the Twentieth Century Club, the Junior League of Buffalo, Tan Tara Golf Club and Holimont Ski Club. Her husband of 37 years, Roy C. Leiser, died in 1998. She was remarried in 1999 to Edward Ziegenfuss. In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth and Laurie Wolf; two sons, Gregory D. and Mark Ziegenfuss; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Twentieth Century Club, 595 Delaware Ave.
