Beloved husband of Joanne (nee Meier) Wieand. Loving father of Heidi (Eric) von Recklinghausen. Loving brother of the late Otto (Rose) Wieand, Edward Wieand, Harry (Rita) Wieand and Richard (Leni) Wieand. Loving brother-in-law of Mary Ann Wieand, Ronald (Jill) Meier, Elaine (Anthony) Kronbeck and Monica (late James) Meier. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Walter was a proud member of the SGTV Edelweiss Club. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 22nd, from 3-7pm at The Dietrich Funeral Home, 2480 Kensington Ave., Amherst, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, January 23rd, at Our Lady Help of Christians, 4125 Union Rd., Buffalo, NY. Please assemble at church. Flowers gratefully declined.
