James C. (Margaret) Kistner and one
sister Joan (Tom) Owen. Born in Buffalo
during the depression, Mr. Kistner
was an Amherst Central High School
graduate. As a young entrepreneur, he
began his pursuit of a career in precast
concrete manufacturing at the age of
17. Mr. Kistner founded the Frontier
Barrier Vault Co. in 1947 with his father,
William G. (Florence nee Berger)
Kistner This company became Kistner
Concrete Products, Inc. He served
in the U.S. Army Medical Corps as a
company clerk during the Korean War,
earning the rank of staff sergeant. One
of his favorite pastimes was enjoying
the company of his many grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. Mr. Kistner
was a former member of Christ the
King Parish’s Holy Name Society and
the Knights of Columbus. A private
Mass of Christian Burial and Internment
will be celebrated with Mr. Kistner’s
beloved family. A Memorial
Service will
be arranged at a future date. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to St.
Luke’s Mission of Mercy, 325 Walden
Ave., Buffalo, NY 14211. Arrangements
