peacefully at age 95,
Beloved son of
Bernard (Mary)
Zoldowski, Dearest
brother of Bertha
Maciejewski, Florence
Luzcak, Lillian Iwinski, Alice
Jakielaszek, Bernard, Raymond,
Henry, and Edward Zoldowski; and
lifelong companion, Arthur Cross. Mel
is also survived by many nieces and
nephews. From 1943 to 1946, Mel
proudly served in WWII as an Army
Infantryman in the Theater of
Operations in the Pacific. Achieving the
rank of Sergeant, he was the recipient
of numerous awards and medals.
Mel’s significant career spanned more
than 30 years at the Buffalo VA Medical
Center as he progressed from a
Medical Technician to the helm of the
Epidemiology Department. A highlight
of his career was appearing on Channel
4 in an episode of “150 years of Medical
Progress, the Modern Medicine Report”
in which he demonstrated a
bacteriological test. Mel’s keen interests
included reading, entertaining family
and friends, dining out, traveling to
Florida, and happily volunteering for
seniors at his home parish and in
Florida. Arrangements by THE
