Emmet you are one of a kind , only just got to know you a little bit , wish i had more time to really get to know you. my thoughts and prayers go out to all the family and friends rest in peace
I’m going to miss my friend. He was like a 2nd Dad to me knowing him all these years and treated me as a son that way, his gift. Many can say that. Having lunch with him and Carole in his retirement years (Even though he never retired, always keeping his mind busy) was his grace. He’d call often to talk politics, yeesh, the Bunker was strong in him! But it was in good fun and next thing I knew 2 hours had past and this happened regularly until this year. In the past few years he reembraced his faith, Saying he had to make sure he passed muster at the gates. He didn’t want negotiate with Peter, although he was a great negotiater. So he is up there with his brothers, sister, parents and friends from a life that was Emmet. Carole, Patrick, Michael and Kelly, I know all about your lives from him being my friend for decades. You all were his “Pride and Joy”. Nothing too small in detail as he couldn’t wait to tell me about the nature of his grandkids. Smile, that Emmet knew was his greatest accomplishment. Godspeed Emmet, a better friend I never will have. I truly loved you as a father.
I could always count on you for the truth as you saw it. You never pulled a punch, especially if I needed it. Our time has always been intertwined. All the way back, to you, John, Jim L and me at the Hackney House for the original Fireside weekday. I am pissed you leave me last man standing!! But then, of course, you said I was the only person you ever met angrier than you in the early days! RIP
A true “straight-shooter” and sage. Whenever he spoke, I listened. He helped many! My condolences to all family and friends.
MY condolences Pat and Amy.He was a great friend and mentor.RIP Emmett
My your memory be a blessing
Rest in peace Uncle Emmet. – Eileen & Frank
Thank you for sharing the sunlight of the Spirit. I can still hear your voice in my head telling me to get out of my own way many years ago. You will be missed by many!
