May 2, 2026, Age 98.  Born in Buffalo NY; Beloved Daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (nee Schoenmann) Schwemmer.  Survived by relatives in Germany.  No prior visitation, all are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 9:30 am, at St. Aloysius Gonzaga RC Church, 157 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga.  Please assemble at Church.  Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery.  Memorials may be made in Irene’s name to St. Aloysius Gonzaga RC Church or a charity of your choice.  Irene was a member of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Seniors, Ladies of Charity, and the St. Aloysius Rosary and Altar Society.  Irene was proud to have had a lengthy career in the medical field.  She began working in the Medical Records Department at Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) and went on to become a dedicated Medical Secretary and Office Manager for physicians at ECMC, Buffalo General Hospital, and for the Chairman of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University at Buffalo.  Irene had many sorority sisters and friends that she was active with enjoying traveling, shopping trips, going to the movies, theatre shows, and spending time at Crystal Beach.  Arrangements by the Dietrich Funeral Homes Inc., 2480 Kensington Ave., Amherst, NY.  Online condolences may be shared at www.TheDietrichFuneralHome.com
