Deepest sympathies from your friends in Silver Bay.
I am so stunned and saddened by the sudden loss of my friend, Marty. He was always so kind and welcoming to me. I especially remember that when my mother died, Marty and Jed were there at her wake. They were so tall and handsome in their suits, and they knew exactly how to handle it and put us at ease. I will miss him at Silver Bay. We were planning to meet up this summer and I regret that won’t happen. May he rest in peace and may his family find comfort in all the people who loved him.
Jed and Kathy, I send my condolences and prayers to you. I am so very sorry about your son. May God console you.
Affectionately
Mary Ann Gerstle

I have wonderful and vivid memories of Marty and Jed Jr with their faces planted against my father’s candy bowl in our cottage. On EVERY visit Harold would sternly say ” JUST ONE PIECE ! They would politely comply and each would leave with “one piece” only. Of course, they were welcome to return as many times as they wanted throughout the day to pick out another ” one piece ” only. You two were the ultimate Silver Bay kids. Non-stop action everywhere and in every minute of the day. Everyone sensed that Marty was a special gentle soul right from the start. Your family was much of the heartbeat creating the magic of Silver Bay and you are all in the center of my prayers tonight.
In Deepest Sympathy in the Loss, of Your Son, Your Husband, Your Father, Your Uncle, Your Family Member, Your Friend, and Acquaintance.
Soo Sorry For Your Loss, In Deepest Sympathy, with many Prayer offend for Martin’s Soul, And, his family and friends at this sad time. Sincerely with Love, Patricia Gallisdorfer

R.I.P 🙏
Dear Kathy, Jed and family. I am heartbroken for the loss of Marty, a gentle soul in every sense of the word.
The loss of Marty will be so heavy for Kathy and Jed to bear. He was such a gentleman but I’ve known him since he was born so I still have many photos of the family as he was growing up to his adulthood. In very recent times, Marty was so helpful to Kathy and me and his kindness was so appreciated. He will be missed so much by so many.
Such fond memories of you Marty. Your spirit and humor were contagious and your kindness and generosity made you a truly remarkable person. To his family – I was blessed to have attended high school with him. My thoughts are with you.
Our hearts are breaking with yours. Keeping you in our prayers.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich, Jed and Family,
I am deeply sorry for Marty’s sudden passing. I have so many fond memories of our time together at Silver Bay as teenagers- listening to Steve Miller Band on the boat, waterskiing, bonfires, missions in the white Monte Carlo and driving on the beach in his Jeep and dune buggy off-season. His lifelong love affair with water and wind were incredible to witness. It was pure joy to watch him fly through the waves on whatever toy he chose that day. He kept us on our toes. You never knew what kind of adventure the day would bring when you were with him. During the prime time of our lives, he was blessed with dashing good looks, easy charm and a deep comfort in his own skin. He was both a true original and a legend – one we will never forget. It was a honor and joy to be Marty’s friend. He certainly gave life a go.
Much love to all his friends and family.
Love, Hope Moore
Dear Hope, Thank you so much for your comments you have pictured Marty exactly correctly. It’s a joy to know he had an impact with you. He respected you and liked you and felt for you. It’s been hard for us, but we’ve been much closer recently and we have gifts many gifts to be very thankful for primarily that he’s been a big part of our life much more recently. I pray that you’re healthy and well and happy in your family is healthy. Please give our best regards to everyone..God Bless!
Kathy & Jed
