Michael Summers Sr. 11/19/2025
Michael Summers Sr. passed away peacefully at home on November 19th, 2025, surrounded by family. Beloved husband of Eileen (nee Fernan) Summers. Loving father of Michael (Mary T.) Summers, Mary (Frank) Scamacca, Kathleen (Mark) Meyerhofer, and Daniel (Beth) Summers. Proud grandfather of nine grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 25th, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 30 Lamarck Dr. (at Main St.), Amherst, NY 14226. Please assemble at church. Flowers gratefully declined. Michael was a 20-year retired Detective of the Amherst Police Department and a graduate of the FBI National Academy. He was also a member of the Snyder Fire Department and a 50-year member of the Amherst Fire Council.
I’m sorry to hear of the loss of Mike. He was always a joy to speak with at Church and I’ll miss that. God have mercy and give you peace at this difficult time.
I have known Mike for 72 years and his wife Eileen for 75 years. Tom and I have enjoyed so many wonderful,,exciting times with Mike and Eileen. He was the greatest husband, father and grandad Mike was so good to everyone who knew him. He and Eileen spend many days each year volunteering. Mike was very knowledgeable in law enforcement and solved many cases. He was a volunteer for the Snyder Fire Department for many years. When you needed help he was there. Tom and I enjoyed our friendship for so many years . We will miss him. Our love,prayers and sympathy is for Eileen and family. Tom and Betty
