Loving Husband of 53 years to the late Kathleen Riester (nee. Nieman). Devoted father of Peter J. (Lynette), David R. (Melanie) and Krista L. Riester. Loving brother of Paul (Pam) Riester, Michael Riester, & the late Susan Bogner. Brother-inlaw of Thomas Bogner. Loving grandfather of Ashley, Alexis, Amber, & Alexander. Loving uncle to numerous nephews and nieces. Peter was a life-member of the Buddy Knaus AMVETS Post #14 Auxiliary. A Visitation will be held Friday June 28th, 2024, from 4-8pm at The Dietrich Funeral Homes, Inc., 2480 Kensington Ave., Amherst, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, at 10am St. Louis RC Church, 780 Main St., Buffalo, NY. Please assemble at church. Pete and Kathy were good friends with my parents from the amvets post. They always jokingly called me their adopted son. Pete and Kathy will be missed. I remember all the good times we had when I was growing up at the amvets post.
