was an active member of the Park

www.TheDietrichFuneralHome.com Jan. 21, 1937 – July 3, 2016 Robert E. Deemer Jr. of Snyder died Sunday at Beechwood Continuing Care. He was 79. Born in Sewickley, Pa., he graduated from Sewickley High School and received a business degree from Franklin and Marshall College in 1958. Mr. Deemer Jr. married his wife, Sheryl, in 1959, and they moved to Buffalo in 1961. In 1964, he started his banking career at Marine Midland Bank, where he worked his way up to senior loan officer. Following his time at Marine Midland Bank, he worked as senior vice president at Bank of New York and Chase Bank. He later left the corporate banking world and joined H. Sicherman and Co., where he managed the financial interests of the company. He also taught small business owners at Niagara County Community College how to obtain financing for their businesses. He served as a deacon at Westminster Church, was co-president of the Harlem Road Elementary School PTA and an active volunteer with Buffalo Multiple Sclerosis Society. An avid golfer, Mr. Deemer Jr. was a longtime member of Park Country Club, where he served as treasurer of the Board of Governors. He also coached hockey for his son and softball for all three of his daughters. He was a dedicated Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan and season ticket holder. He is survived by his wife Sheryl; three daughters, Amy, Jill and Robyn; a son, Craig, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in North Presbyterian Church, 300 North Forest Road.
