January 15, 2022. In the home of her
daughter Linda. Loving wife of the late
Dr. Elmer Berner. Survived by daughter
Linda (Bill) Adams; grandson Jamie;
grandson Toby; granddaughter Kyle
(Ben Freiner); and great-grandsons
Alden and Keeler. Shirley worked at
the University of Buffalo for decades,
taught Sunday School to the threeand four-year-olds at Cleveland Drive
Presbyterian Church for over 60 years.
Enjoyed day trips, Elder Hostels all
over the U.S., a round of golf, puttering
in her flower gardens, annual Labor
Day weekends at Allegany State Park
(Parallel Trail Cabin #6), and organizing
fun events. A woman of faith with a
sunny disposition, her enthusiasm
for joining in life’s adventures will be
missed. A Graveside
Service was
held on January 25. A celebration of
Shirley and her life will be held in late
June, in Buffalo, near the time of what
would have been her 100th birthday.
