As a member and volunteer at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site, I had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with Shirley over the years. On the occasion of Trivia Nite, we would talk (we were on separate teams), and she always had something interesting to say. Her warmth and friendly manner is remembered fondly. Extending my sincere condolences to her sons and family. May she rest in peace.
My husband and I express our sincere sympathy on the passing of Shirley. She worked with us for many, many years with Habitat, including two Women Builds which I co-supervised. She tackled any job with gusto and became quite proficient at many phases of building, and especially enjoyed electrical wiring. A conversation with her was always interesting, and stories of her trips to visit families in VA and Seattle always were accompanied by big smiles and laughter. May happy memories bring warmth to your hearts and smiles to your faces. May God grant you comfort and peace.
